Public Speaking & Debate

This program offers a comprehensive overview of contemporary issues across five key areas: Social Justice, International Relations, Sports, Economics/Finance, and Science. Students will engage with topics such as gender inequality, global power dynamics, human rights in sports, economic policies, and advancements in technology. Through interactive lectures, activities, and debates, participants will develop critical thinking and argumentation skills, gaining insights into the complexities of social, political, and economic systems, and the ethical considerations in scientific research.

• Interactive Lectures -Introduction to topics and key concepts.
• Activities - Using the PAEIL method to construct arguments for both sides of a motion, followed by group discussion and presentation of arguments.
• Debate and Feedback - Practice rounds of debate with group discussion, followed by feedback and scoring from the coach.
• End-of-Week Debate Tournaments
